SCI is proud to share that we have been named one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2021 by Waterstone Human Capital. This national program, now in its 18th year, recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations for having cultures that have helped them enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.
SCI’s culture journey started in 2017, when we established a set of shared values and behaviours that would unite employees under a common purpose. Since then, SCI has done some incredible work defining its culture and imbedding these pillars and guiding principles throughout the organization.
A key driver behind this has been SCI’s people. They continue to bring SCI’s desired culture to life by embracing change, building trust, and achieving together.

Being honoured with this prestigious award was based on a rigid set of criteria and a lengthy review process by a Board of Governors comprised of CEOs and Senior HR Leaders from across Canada. Specifically, SCI was recognized for successfully making significant investments to help shift culture and support the change with proven results. This included a strong overall commitment to a 4-year culture transformation to become a people centric organization, successfully modelled throughout business operations. In addition, SCI built robust programs in people development and talent management; and focused on developing DEI and ESG initiatives with substantial employee involvement.
