Salary: $40,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year

Role: The Transportation Coordinator will work with the Transportation Management and Operations team to achieve daily SLA’s and operational objectives. The Transportation Coordinator will work with the internal Operations team and external carriers to support Bell Supply Chain in delivering exceptional service for the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize productivity by effectively allocating available resources to successfully process the daily work volume
  • Effectively communicate with both internal parties & external carriers regarding shipments and utilizing the most cost effective methods
  • Comprehend and administer all relevant policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
  • Resolve transportation issues in a timely manner and escalate when required
  • Coordinate the dispatching of shipments (both inbound & outbound)
  • Hands on direction of all activities to ensure customer and corporate requirements are met
  • Adhere to Progistix’s Quality Principles and Account specific Standard Operating Procedures
  • Use of Truck Mate (TMW), SAP and other related systems
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety practices and ensure employees are following all related policies and procedures
  • Meet or exceed internal & external reporting requirements, work with operations and carriers to resolve issues
  • Balance volume between routes to minimize left off ensuring maximum delivery
  • Ensure timely and accurate freight tendered as per Bell guidelines – ensure shipment details, carrier routing and appointment times are updated and communicated
  • Coordinate and update inbound shipment information
  • Lead daily carrier meetings to discuss shipping and delivery issues
  • Ensure utilization of most cost effective carriers to support Bell business needs

Qualifications include:

  • Thorough knowledge and experience with third party logistics services and processes
  • Experience working with TMW software, WMS & SAP systems
  • Proficient with the use of a computer, including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Sound business judgment and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as a member of a team
